TOKYO, JAPAN, 1 15, 2014
Lawson, Inc. (Head Office: Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo; Representative Director and CEO: Takeshi Niinami) has announced the following organizational and personnel changes which were approved at the Board of Directors meeting held on January 15, 2014.
■ Organizational changes
With the aim to enhance the execution of operations, the following organizational changes will be made.
- 1) Changes, abolishment, and creation of titles of executive officers in charge
- C-Class titles will be limited to CEO, COO, and CCO & CFO. CHO, CIO, and CCRO in Charge of CSR will be renamed to "in Charge of Human Resources", "in Charge of Information Systems", and "in Charge of CR", respectively, while "in Charge of BPR/SCM Innovation" will remain as it is.
- The titles "in Charge of Corporate Planning" and "in Charge of Marketing" will be newly established.
- 2) Changes in the Corporate divisions of the headquarters
- Corporate Advisory Board will be newly established by incorporating the Innovation Promotion Committee, which is supervised by the CEO, and will be engaged in corporate planning of healthcare business and overseas development, among other relevant issues.
- Health & Wellness Promotion Committee will be newly established and supervised by the CEO.
- Marketing Office will be enhanced as an organization to vertically encompass merchandising, operation, and sales promotion, and this Office will be transferred from the CVS Company to the Corporate divisions of the headquarters.
- Sales Strategy Planning Department will be newly established and supervised by an executive officer "in Charge of Marketing".
- Compliance & Risk Management Office under the Franchisee Support Office will be reorganized into Compliance & Risk Management Office and Information Security Management Office, and will be supervised by an executive officer "in Charge of CR".
- In-Store Sales Promotion Department under the direct control of the Merchandising Management Group will be abolished and its operations will be transferred to Advertising & Sales Promotion Department.
- Rice Foods Department and Noodles & Delicatessen Products Department under the Merchandising & Logistics Division will be reorganized into Rice Foods & Noodles Department and Delicatessen Products & Daily Foods Department.
- Premium Coffee and In-Store Kitchen Department will be reorganized into MACHI café Business Promotion Department and In-Store Kitchen Products Department, respectively.
- 3) Changes in the CVS Operations Company
- Home CVS Business Promotion Division will be newly established. Home CVS Business Promotion Department and Home CVS Logistics Department, which are currently in the Entertainment & Home Convenience Company, will be transferred to the new division.
- CVS Task Execution Support Office will be abolished and CVS Business Management Department will be newly established under the direct control of the CVS Operations Company.
- East Japan Corporate Sales Department and West Japan Corporate Sales Department in the Corporate Sales Division will be reorganized into Corporate Sales Department and Corporate Sales Planning Department, respectively.
- Healthcare Planning Department in the Healthcare Business Division will be reorganized into Senior Consumer Business Planning Department and New Business Development Department.
- Owner Support Department will be transferred from the Regional Offices Support Division to Management Owner Promotion Division and incorporate Customer Center under its management.
- Management Owner Operations Department in the Management Owner Promotion Division will be integrated into Management Owner Business Support Department.
- Lawson Mart Business Promotion Division will be newly established and Lawson Mart Business Management Department, Lawson Mart Franchise Development Department, and Lawson Mart Store Construction Department consecutively, will operate under this Division.
- For those "In Charge of Development" in all regions will be renamed to Development Department.
- 4) Changes in the Entertainment & Home Convenience Company
- The Company will be renamed to Entertainment & Consumer Service Company in accordance with the transfer of the Home CVS Business Promotion Department and Home CVS Logistics Department.
- ※ The creation of departments in the Lawson Mart Business Promotion Division, the creation of Health & Wellness Promotion Committee, the abolition of CVS Task Execution Support Office, the creation of CVS Business Management Department, the transfer of Owner Support Department, and the name change to the Development Department at each region will be enforced on February 1, 2014.
