Environmental Vision Lawson Blue Challenge 2050 !
Save our blue planet!

Lawson Group is pursuing efforts to achieve the KPIs we determined for social and environmental aspects in 2025, our 50th anniversary of our founding, and 2030, target year of the SDGs, as target years. Furthermore, Lawson Group also formulated its environmental vision, Lawson Blue Challenge 2050!, aiming to realize a carbon-free society by 2050 and ensure an abundant, blue planet for the future.
In order to contribute to the ideal world that the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aim to realize, we will continue our initiatives to address environmental issues, such as reducing CO2 emissions, reducing food waste, and reducing plastic in containers and shopping bags, as we take on difficult challenges to achieve our goals (the KPIs) for 2025, 2030, and 2050.

Reducing CO2 emissions (CO2 emissions per store)

The 2025 target (KPI) is a 15% reduction compared to 2013. The 2030 target (KPI) is a 50% reduction compared to 2013. The 2050 target (KPI) is a 100% reduction compared to 2013.

* Change to calculation based on unit generation (food loss and waste per million yen of net sales) from fiscal 2023

Reducing plastic use (plastic containers and packaging)

The 2025 target (KPI) is a 15% reduction compared to 2017. The 2030 target (KPI) is a 30% reduction compared to 2017, with 50% of original product containers and packaging made from environmentally friendly materials. The 2050 target (KPI) is for 100% of original product containers and packaging to be made from environmentally friendly materials.

Reducing plastic use (plastic shopping bags)

FY2024

CO2 emissions per store*1

CO2 emissions per store, using fiscal 2013 as the base year (101.8 t-CO2), were reduced by 37.0% to 64.2 t-CO2 in fiscal 2024.

*1 As for the data used to calculate CO2 emissions, the "CO2 Emission Coefficients by Electric Power Company" were used.

*2 Calculated from April 1 to March 31 of the following year to coincide with the administrative fiscal year.

Reducing food loss and waste*

Food loss and waste at stores, using fiscal 2018 as the base year (100.0%), were reduced by 28.2% to 71.8% in fiscal 2024.
