Total sales at all stores in October 2011 amounted to 165,374 million yen, an increase of 114.7% year on year. Consolidated net sales of existing stores increased by 110.1% yoy. Average daily sales per store (all stores) amounted to 548 thousand yen. The average number of customers per store (existing stores) was 934, an increase of 104.2% yoy, and average spending per customer (existing stores) increased by 105.7% yoy, to 568 yen.

Consolidated existing-store sales in the Tohoku region increased by over approximately 120% yoy, driven by demand related to reconstruction following the earthquake disaster.

Sales of cigarettes at existing stores rose approximately 150% yoy in reaction to the rush demand ahead of the cigarette tax hike effective October 1, 2010. Some of the sales triggered by the rush demand were accounted for on October 1 of the previous year, as the company’s store cash registers close at 1:30 p.m. in principle.

Sales of other products also rose year on year.

Sales in the rice and noodles category, fast food category and beverage category sustained the sharp growth trajectory of the previous month, exceeding 100% yoy.

In the fresh food category, enhanced fresh food-type LAWSON stores (Hybrid Type) contributed to a substantial 64% yoy increase in sales.

As of October 31, 2011, the Lawson Group was comprised of 10,326 stores in Japan, including 93 NATURAL LAWSON stores and 1,149 LAWSON STORE 100 stores.

Existing store sales of Ninety-nine Plus Inc. amounted to 100.1% of the previous year

(number of customers: 99.4%; sales per customer: 100.8%). In October, Ninety-nine Plus Inc. opened 12 stores and closed no store, bringing the total number of stores to 1,149.
